Got it!

I got my Kansas Teaching License.  I have a NE one.   I had an IA one once, but let it expire.  KS was the most difficult one to get so far - a lot of documentation and more documentation to the point that it was redundant.  It's done!  Now, I want to get the National one.  Any thoughts on that?

Also, I will post a few pictures of my classroom this week.  It's been a crazy beginning of the year!  Moving classrooms is never fun.  I am glad that I have the nicest (and I really mean that) teaching partner that I've ever had.  She is really a good person.  I'm glad to know her better.

MOVIN' ON UP!

The end of the school year came...and went.  I blogged no more.  I vacationed in Colorado, St. Louis, and DuQuoin, IL, this summer.   Our LS Principal quit his position, our fifth grade lead teacher was moved up as our Principal (yay, Mrs. Bates) and I was asked to move up to fifth grade.  SO, my wonderful and handy husband built a shelf similar to the one in the other fifth grade classroom as I'm moving into a room that has not been used in awhile.  Plus, my friend and co-teacher, Mrs. Jensen, encouraged her four boys and a friend to help my three children and I move my classroom last Friday.  It took us about an hour and a half to move.  It's mostly set up now and I am pinning ideas to begin the year.  I'll post pictures of the room later.  Here are a couple from vacation in Colorado.  I still haven't uploaded the others.

Into the World of Blogging and Topeka Field Trip

Well, I spent the day in Topeka, KS, our state capital touring the capitol and the governor's residence.  It was beautiful and fun.  I even met Steve Roberts, KS State Board of Education Member from Johnson County.  The fourth and fifth grade classes were wonderfully behaved, and we went to Gage Park to run around between the tours after lunch, as well.  Whew!  Now, I'm downloading pictures onto our school site and going to bed.  I'm excited to start blogging about my year and the fabulous things we accomplished in fourth grade, but for now I'm off to bed.  Thanks for checking out my site!  Please come back for more!
